Company comprised of high growth, long-life reserves and conventional light oil assets, significant production and development opportunities in natural gas resource plays. They achieve results in part by being an industry leader in applying leading edge technology to the multi-year inventory of light oil development locations and in the gas resource plays. Team Dynamics
The successful candidate will report to the Manager Production Engineering. This role is part of the Operations team based out of the Calgary office.
Activities and Responsibilities
The successful Production Operations Engineer candidate will be responsible for a number of key actions:
- Support and maintain the existing base production; monitor production and operating costs; identify and execute improvements; plan an develop optimization strategies
- Analyze well gathering and facilities; evaluate well performance problems; recommend remedial action and make decisions to meet operating cost and production budget targets
- Complete economic evaluations on servicing, optimizations, well tie-ins and facility work
- Review shut-in wells and recommend appropriate action
- Act as a primary contact for field personnel to help troubleshoot daily operational issues and coordinate with appropriate staff to help resolve them
- Work closely with the area foreman to ensure production volumes are maintained, and projects executed in a compliant, efficient, cost effective, timely and safe manner
- Travel to the field on a regular basis to review operational optimization opportunities.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate is an APEGGA-qualified P.Eng with a minimum of 8 years of directly related experience. You have a good knowledge of well workovers and pumping well technologies. You are comfortable and effective in a fast-paced environment where efficient decision making will impact the bottom line. You possess strong interpersonal skills with an ability to clearly communicate thoughts on complex issues and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Remuneration
The company rewards more than fairly, based on a candidate’s previous experience & level of competency. This includes a Base Salary, Performance-Based Bonus, Long Term Incentive Plan and Flex Benefits.
